Turning Recommendation 30 into Action
Unlocking Housing Through Homeshare
The Victorian Parliament’s Inquiry into the Supply of Homes in Regional Victoria recognised the potential of Homeshare through Recommendation 30, recommending the development of a statewide Homeshare Framework and regional pilot programs.
Since lodging our submission to the Inquiry in 2025, HANZA has continued to work with government and sector partners to help turn that recommendation into action. We have developed a Draft Homeshare Framework and Budget Proposal that provide a practical pathway for implementation.
The Victorian Government’s response, released in June 2026, confirmed that Recommendation 30 is under review while it considers governance, safeguarding, tenancy arrangements and coordinated implementation. HANZA welcomes this response and looks forward to continuing to work with government and partners to support the next stage of this important work.
